Accident? What to do
Step-by-step for road accidents in Saudi Arabia. Save this page — it opens even with weak signal once you've used the app.
Tap to call
1. Make the scene safe
- Stop, switch on hazard lights and turn off the engine.
- Check yourself and passengers. If anyone is hurt, call 997 (or 911) now — don't move injured people unless there is fire or other danger.
- Place your warning triangle well behind the car. On highways, wait behind the barrier, not between cars.
2. Call the right number
- Injuries, fire or a blocked road: 997 / 911 / 998 and Traffic Police 993.
- Minor accident with no injuries and insured vehicles: report it to Najm on 920 000 560 or through the Najm app.
- If Najm doesn't cover your area, call Traffic Police on 993.
3. Take photos before anything moves
- Both vehicles from all four sides, the damage close up, and both number plates.
- The road, lane markings, signs and where the cars stopped.
- Only take photos when it is safe to stand there.
4. Exchange details
- Other driver's name and mobile number.
- Plate number, vehicle make and colour.
- Insurance company name.
- Stay calm and polite. Don't argue about who is at fault — Najm or the police decide that.
5. Clear the road when told
- Follow the instructions Najm or the police give you about moving the cars.
- Don't leave the scene until the report is done.
6. After the accident
- Keep the report number and the photos.
- Contact your insurance company to start the claim.
- If the car can't be driven safely, or you have a flat tire, open Nearby to find the nearest tire shop or workshop.
This is general guidance, not legal advice. Always follow instructions from the police, Najm and emergency services.
